How do you guys feel about thrift store shopping? I recently started, and have such a fun time of it. I like things that aren't crazy expensive, no more 108 for miss me's. I can pay 50 for a good pair, that are just as perfect. I was wonering if any of you have or share my thrills.

I love shopping at thriftstores. *smile* I like getting to look around at the things they have, especially the electronics and any other stuff. I'm not much into clothes or shoes shopping no matter where we go for them, but I'd rather get those and most other things from thriftstores rather than buying them new, unless it's a major appliance like a washer or refrigerator. I like that you never know what you'll get lucky to find; sometimes it's something you can't find anywhere else or something that you've been really needing but that would be much more at a regular store. I honestly could see myself still going to thriftstores even if I were to get rich or make a lot of money.

Yep, That's how am. I like shopping mainly anywhere I like of course. But thrift store shopping brings a thrill, I like finding things I have not found in stores regularly.

I like thrift stores. My mom found a really cute zebra cup the other day at one of them and gave it to me. The tail is the handle and the body is the cup. The head is on the front of the cup and it has ears and eyes that you can feel and everything. I think it is pretty awesome. It even has little legs and hooves, which keep the cup itself elivated off whatever surface it's on. I've bought some clothes at a thrift store, but I would never buy shoes or a bed at one, for the simple reason that you don't know if you're getting something scary. I wouldn't want to sleep in someone's bed bugs or get warts or fungus on my feet from shoes I bought at a thrift store. Clothes and dishes, at least, I can wash or dry clean them before use. They are awesome for finding unique items, though.
Take Care,
Dawnielle

I love thrift store shopping. though there are some things i just will not buy there like underwear or, bathingsuits, or shoes.
I like Platos Closet, and its sister store Clothes Mentor. im a bit iffy about Goodwill. But really it depends on what part of town it's in. If its a more upscale part of town the chances of coming across something truly nasty or crusty goes down a bit. :p

when you guys say you are "looking" at stuff what do you mean? for me, its a draw back. i cant see, so going shopping in general is as follows. if i "need" something i go looking for it. but, i just dont go to a store just to browse. since i am blind. it takes the sting out of the joy i use to get when heading to a thrift store, or the mall. but, i do like thrift stores. i buy some of my clothes from then. gym shorts especialy and t shirts, belts, and even furniture. although i like habitat for humanity for furniture too.

I love thrift stores because usually when you purchase things there you help people. The only one I hate is Goodwill because Goodwill is a disability sweatshop. If you don't know, read about it.

I love platos closet. The things I find I grow to love. I do buy shoes, but I have those washed or cleaned. Depending on what kind they are. I enjoy buying clothes and jewelry the most from thrift stores. In fact I'll be volunteering this summer for one. Everything they sell all the money goes to children in need. They buy them brand new school clothes and buy books for them too.
